Mafana Island has a tranquil beach and is situated on the quieter eastern side of Vava'u and only 15 minutes by boat from the old harbour.
They offer a secluded eco-fiendly campsite on the beach with spacious tents (including comfortable air beds and mosquito nets), toilet and beach shower.
There are self catering facilities with a communal bbq, gas cooker, pots, pans, cutlery etc. All you need to bring is your food.
Rates: T$55 for a double tent, T$35 for a single tent.

Mystic Sands Beach Resort is the perfect place to come and enjoy the tropical sun, sand and amazing clear blue waters on offer in Tonga. Four units have double bed (can be made up as singles if wanted) and a single bed. The fifth family unit has a double and 2 single beds and can comfortably sleep a family of four.

The island is located right in the heart of the whale region, and whales are often spotted in front of the island.
