For those of
you who have already booked accommodation in Vava'u and
Tonga, and are looking to book just a whale watch or whale
swim day trip or tour, then this section is for you.
Of course since these are wild animals, swimming with whales
in the sea involves a certain amount of patience, a bit of
luck, but especially a good choice of operator.
We only work with operators who have consistently proved
themselves and their crew to be experienced, reliable, safe,
and to have a good understanding of the whales.
We have put
together a variety of whale watching and whale swimming
packages and tours, that include whales, other activites if
required, and a choice of accommodations to suit all needs
and budgets, from camping and backpackers, to self catering
and luxury island resorts.
As Vava'u, and indeed Tonga, is still a small tourist
destination, it can be difficult to find tourist
information. We have seleted operators and accommodations
that we feel provide an excellent service, and cover the
best parts of what Vava'u has to offer.

Swimming with humpback whales in their natural environment is an
unforgettable experience. It is amazing to see how these
huge animals can be so graceful when viewed underwater. The
excitement of seeing a small group of whales, or perhaps a
mother and calf pair, swim by or swim close (since they can
very often be inquisitive), is not something to be missed!
Vava'u, Tonga is an ideal location to be able to swim with
these magnificent creatures, and one of the few places in
the world where it is possible. The humpback whales come
here from July to October to breed and give birth in the
warm and clear waters.
